Well hello there at last! I've finally made it back! It's a wonder you haven't told me to blog off in the meantime! Well maybe you have and it's just that in my Pollyanna-like way I haven't heard it! I've got my next little old blog all ready, but before I post it, I just want to take this opportunity to say a few words of final farewell to the jolly old Recroom discussion forum. So therefore, some might say that the title of this blog, relating to a memoir about a war, is particularly apt!
I know it had its moments, but then that's the nature of most online forums and discussion groups, particularly one where passions run as high as they do about Prisoner, but I'd like to think there was more love in the Recroom than war. If nothing else, one thing I'd like to think everyone shared was a love of Prisoner, so for that I thought it was a great little community that I was, and am, really proud to say that I was a part of.
It was like a breath of fresh air to be able to share my views, passions, loves and loathes (not that being a sunshiney little person I have many loathes about Prisoner or even in this world, I have to say!) with people who are as mad about the show as I am. "Don't include us in your madness!" I hear you cry!
I made so many lovely friends along the way and really enjoyed the input of everyone. It really was a home away from home and it's strange to think it's no more and quite sad that, as we go our separate ways, there are quite a few people who crossed my path either directly or indirectly just by reading their contributions to the forum I might never meet again. Still, such is life, especially in this transient world that we live in! All good things come to an end!
Before I move on, I'd just like to take one more chance to thank everyone involved, from Scott and Barry and the other moderators, for all the hard and sometimes thankless work they put in, to anyone who contributed in any way for making it the special place that it was and giving me so much interest and enjoyment from what they had to say. The banter was good at times! I really do wish everyone all the best with whatever the future brings.
Anyway, it's onwards and upwards now as we look to exciting new horizons for On The Inside and the wider Prisoner world. And it's onwards and upwards for this blog as I get ready to post my next wittering! Now you'll find out just how slooooooow a typist I really am! I don't think Erica Davidson's Wendy needs to be shaking in her shoes!
Honestly though, talk about buses! You wait ages for an entry on here and then two come along at once! "And why not?" I say! "Well WHY?!" say you! Because that's the way the cookie crumbles! Bye for now then!
